Reducing handling risks May 1st 2008 Construction industry
supplier, SIG has
purchased lead booms
from Invicta Forks &
Attachments to reduce
manual handling risks for
personnel in its roofing
division.
The booms are designed
to handle heavy coiled or
cylindrical products, such
as steel coils, concrete
pipes and rolls of lead.
Purchase of the lead
booms from Invicta has
enabled heavy rolls of lead
to be handled more easily
and has simplified the
operation of loading them
onto vans.
The need for manual
handling has been reduced
and therefore the risk of
injury lowered.
A key safety features is
the fully-automatic heel pin
retention. This eliminates
any possibility of the
attachment slipping off the
truck's forks during
handling and transporting.
The device operates
automatically as the boom
is lifted off the floor and
automatically disengages
when the forks are lowered
onto the floor. More articles from Invicta Forks & Attachments: |
