Pyroban says that although most EX converted trucks are maintained by service engineers trained specifically on explosion-proof equipment, there are instances where this is not so, and it is up to the user to check the engineer's capabilities and certification.

Darren Boiling, customer service manager in the South of England, says "There are three simple steps to ensure good practice and maintain compliance under DSEAR: Use engineers who are trained on the Pyroban system Follow the recommended service schedules Carry out an EX-ASA which is an independent annual inspection, like an MOT, in line with GN28, the fork truck annual inspection.
