Storage boost
November 1st 2007

A Sidetracker multi-directional narrow-aisle lift truck that handles a range of steel personnel doors and frames has enabled Omega Doors to maximise storage capacity in the warehouse of its HQ near Preston.

The company previously block stacked a small quantity of doors on site and replenished from a bulk warehouse 30 miles away. Now, pallet racking installed in the warehouse has capacity for 1200 doors and frame components.

The battery-powered, stand-on Sidetracker has a lift capacity of 2100kg at 525mm load centre. It has enabled aisle widths to be reduced to 2100mm despite load depths approaching 1200mm.

Storage capacity is up by 30%.
