Yale's quiet approach secures FLTA award
March 1st 2009

Yale Europe has won the FLTA 2009 award for Environment for its MP16S low noise powered pallet truck, which has reduced operating noise when running over cracks and uneven surfaces in floors.

The design incorporates an off-set third wheel and other noise reduction measures.

All mechanical parts were analysed and assessed for sound deadening treatment.

Noise-free magnetic battery cover fastenings, noise reduction strips, sound absorbing material on the motor cover and hydraulic pump, with noise absorbing paint applied to the chassis, all contributed to the design.

However, it is the new offset third wheel running in parallel with the tandem Available from ERacking, Protect-It Maxi is designed to minimise damage to structural columns and assets that results from a forklift or vehicle impact.

Available in 500 and 1000mm heights and upwards in 500mm modules, the device is said to fit any column size from 100mm and increasing in 25mm increments to fit any shape wheels at the front of the forks that Yale regards as a major breakthrough. The quiet running wheels are always in contact with the floor surface and cannot drop into the joints between pavers, concrete blocks or uneven surfaces in the workplace or outside retail premises.
