State-of-the-art transit shed January 1st 2004 When the port of Port Arthur on the Texas gulf coast needed additional docksite warehouse space, it turned to Rubb Buildings associate company in the USA, Rubb Inc, for a quick, cost effective solution.
Rubb provided a 67m (220ft) wide by 160m (525ft) BVE range bi-link building with 9.76m (32ft) sidewalls that provides an additional 100 000ft2 of transit storage in addition to covering the ports railroad siding. The building had to meet the stringent Texas gulf coast building requirements, and withstand winds of 209kpg (130mph).
It has six 10.97 (36ft) wide by 7.3m (24ft) high bi-parting Norco doors for access on dockside as well as through the ends of the building. Two 5.5m (18ft) wide Norco single panel sliding doors provide additional access.
Lights are automatically turned off during daylight hours, when the white translucent roof membrane provides a bright working environment.
The project took just seven months to complete. More articles from Rubb Building Systems: |
