Update for online information September 1st 2008 The Fork Lift Truck Association
has gone live with a new-look, reengineered
website that will enable
fork truck users to find answers to
problems and direct them to
sources of further help and advice.
The site contains a section on
legislation and advice where visitors
can download free FLTA fact sheets
and there is a list of relevant
publications from the HSE and
other organisations. The
Association's own online catalogues
offers a wide range of safety
publications, DVDs, warning
stickers and other useful material.
A further feature is 'Virtual Risk
Manager – FLT', an online reassessment
tool for fork lift
operators, created by Interactive
Driving Systems. The package
allows employers to plan their
training effectively and economically
by identifying operators' weak
areas. The FLTA has negotiated a
nominal cost of just £25 for each
operator for this facility.
Another key development is the
'Find a member or service' facility.
Customers can input their postcode
and search for a fork lift supplier
within 20, 40 or 60 miles of that
location. Similarly, it is possible to
search for those who are accredited
to CFTS, under the materials
handling industry's own national
accreditation scheme, to deliver
Thorough Examinations. More articles from The Fork Truck Association: |
