Labelling quality set to improve
March 1st 2007

Kingsland Wines & Spirits have taken advantage of recent innovations in selfadhesive labeller technology.

The new drying system, JetPlate, was installed at Kingsland's Irlam premises in April 2006.

Any condensation or water that accumulates on the outside of the bottle prior to labelling can have an adverse effect on the label application quality as it prevents the label from adhering to the bottle.

ACI's JetPlate features an air delivery system comprising facing plenums each with a face plate with stepped air delivery slots.

This configuration ensures the air delivery pattern effectively pushes liquid down and off the product as it is conveyed between the plenums.

The close proximity of the plenums also ensures there is no risk of bottles falling over.

Air delivery is designed to ensue water and spray is driven downwards to prevent possible recontamination.

Nigel Smith, company engineering manager says "The ACI system works very efficiently, providing significant benefits."
