Print Tags in House
January 1st 2006

GEN2 RFID tags used in the supply chain can now be printed and encoded in-house and on demand using the updated CL400e series thermal label printer from Sato UK.

The CL408e (8 dots/mm) and CL412e (12 dots/mm) barcode printers offer the latest in UHF RFID multi-protocol technology, supporting Class 1 and Class 0+, as well as ISO 18000 standards.

With the RFID module added, the CL400e printers provide high speed, high performance label throughput so that businesses can print and encode their own Gen2 RFID products in one simple step.

Stephen Hull, RFID product manager at Sato America, says "Sato has been working diligently to complement its RFID offering with Gen 2 enabled printers. To do so we have worked closely with Gen 2 inlay manufacturers to create a truly interoperable RFID printer. With these efforts and strong alliances, we will make adoption of Gen 2 as seamless as possible for all our customers."
