Mobile lift

A mobile dock lift from Transdek UK is helping the United Co-op's Talke regional distribution centre in Staffordshire to recycle more of the waste packing materials generated by its 580 stores.

Large quantities of cardboard are delivered to the RDC in roll cages every day. Vehicles used to be unloaded in the yard by tail-lift, but this method was slow and tied up drivers for too long.

Transdek installed a dock lift that could handle cages more quickly and could be moved to allow access between warehouse and yard. Retractable wheels were fitted to each corner of the lift chassis. No civil engineering work was required.

The lift has an SWL of 4500kg and enables one person to unload a vehicle in 5min.
