Recyclers ramp it up September 1st 2006 Eurokey Recycling has solved the problem of having no loading bays by using yardramps from Thorworld Industries to load containers.
The Leicester-based plastics recycler takes in large quantities of waste each week. Some of it is granulated, but most is baled before being shipped to export markets in the Far East.
Its two 10,000 kg capacity Thorworld yardramps are fixed to the ground next to one another in the despatch area. 3.5 ton JCB Teletrucks drive up the ramps with either a bale or one ton sack of granulated material and load them inside the container.
A spokesman for Eurokey said the Thorworld ramps have the advantage of featuring handoperated hydraulic pumps. This allows them to be finely adjusted and raised to the required height for use with every size and type of container vehicle.
Thorworld's rugged yardramps, ideal for the fast loading and unloading of vehicle trailers and containers, are increasingly popular with recyclers and other industries who do not have suitable loading docks. More articles from Thorworld Industries: |
