Free-standing goods lift
July 1st 2008

A free-standing Transdek goods lift has provided a cost-effective solution for moving loads between the ground and first floors of the central distribution hub managed by DHL for Canon at Coalville.

The lift, which can carry loads of up to 1000kg, allows Canon to access a mezzanine, giving additional storage space for photocopiers and so on.

The self-contained, floor mounted lift required no pit or other civil engineering work and took less than two days to install. It is powered by a 240V 20A electricity supply. Overall height is 6700mm.

The lift is designed to rise 4000mm. Its platform is 2400mm wide x 1750mm deep. Sides are lined with plywood to stop goods from catching in the steel mesh sides. Staff operate the lift from both levels.
