Versatility and safety are key to easy lifting September 1st 2008 Designed to help workers
when removing or installing
submersible pumps, Easylift
has been created by ITT Water &
Wastewater engineers in
conjunction with a specialist lifting
manufacturer. The device helps
overcome everyday difficulties of
accessing pumps and other
equipment in hard to reach places,
especially where time is critical in
the repair or maintenance of water
treatment/transportation
instruments.
Robert Mason, ITT Water &
Wastewater service area manager
north, advised the project team
developing Easylift that the ITT
Water & Wastewater service team
required lifting equipment with
more versatility and greater safety
features. The Easylift comes
equipped with accessories to
safely move covers away from a
sump and transport the pump to a
safe working location, without
moving the load from a vertical lift.
Easylift is produced from
aluminium and fully compliant with
the Lifting Operations and Lifting
Equipment Regulations 1998. It
has adaptable legs suitable for
undulating ground and adjustment
holes on the beam to shorten the
footprint if required. The product
has a 1.6m length beam which
runs across the top of the two
support frames housing a spirit
level to ensure it is horizontal.
The beam incorporates two
trollies allowing for easy movement
across the structure of up to
500kg. Locking clips prevent the
lifting point from moving.
Component parts are lightweight
and easily transportable with an
optional purpose built transport
system. It is self supporting while
the engineer erects the frame,
enabling single man operation. More articles from I T T Flygt Ltd: |
