Special dock
March 1st 2006

Stertil Stokvis has improved loading bay efficiency at the Argos NDC in Wolverhampton.

Trailers on delivery vehicles are up to 18m long and the confined space at the site meant it was virtually impossible for them to access two of the 18 bays. With up to 350 movements a day bringing goods in or out of the centre, this was impacted on efficiency.

Stertil designed a saw tooth dock at 30° angle, providing more room for reversing vehicles, thereby enabling both bays to return to full use. The bays were sized to accommodate modern trailer designs, including megaand multi-deck.
