Super pusher
May 1st 2005

Two Nu-Star Super Pushers are used by Ibstock Brick at its site in West Sussex to push up to 24 drier cars at once into the tunnels where bricks are dried before going to the kiln. A line of cars weighs about 38t.

The Super Pushers replace an old petrol-powered Gravely tractor unit. Spares for the tractor were becoming difficult to source and a battery powered alternative was sought in order to prevent any health and safety issues relating to exhaust gases.

Part of the Nu-Star range of battery powered electric tug units, the Super Pusher can be used for pushing, pulling and steering a wide range of rolling loads in industrial applications. Units are available to purchase or for contract hire.
