GAS-POWERED FORKLIFT July 1st 2005 A new 2t capacity gas-powered, articulating forklift from Translift Bendi will lift 1t to 9m. The company believes this to be higher than any similar spec truck. It works in aisles just 1.65m wide.
The truck’s 4x4 wheel drive makes it suitable for outdoor work on slippery surfaces and the company believes it to be safer than other, two or three wheel drive methods. Its masts are said to rotate more than any competing trucks, so side shift could be optional.
Simon Brown, Translift’s MD, says that selling points also include greater energy efficiency due to its new oil cleaning system, lower revving engine and lower maintenance.
Equipped with a new emissions system, the Series 3 Bendi reduces emissions by 95% while enhancing fuel economy by 20%. Users who want an even cleaner gas truck can choose compressed natural gas that contains no benzene. The company says that operators working trucks intensively will find the gas Bendi cheaper and more convenient than electric models that would require two standby batteries and charging facilities.
