When a supplier of commercial scanners received requests from a new customer to change from plywood and foam packaging to a fibreboard-only version, the company opted for a DS Smith Tri-Wall solution.

A case made from heavy duty double flute material ensures a high degree of shock absorption while having sufficient stacking strength to multi-stack the 38kg stand in both storage and transit.

To help with this, and for handling in general, handholds were included at each end of the box.

The case has overlapping outer flaps, meeting inner flaps and, for extra cushioning, an inner base fitting. Enhanced end protection was achieved with the base fitting having creased panels to form end air cells.
