Building within a building

Mersey-based Lockwoods Technical Services acted as main contractor for Avocet Hardware during the fitting out of a new distribution warehouse, home to window and door hardware.

Avocet wanted production and packing areas housed within the warehouse as a self-contained work area and realised the quickest, most effective way of achieving this would be to install a smaller building within the permanent warehouse.

Contacted by Lockwoods, TempAstor provided an aluminiumframed structure 15 by 35m with a 4m eaves height, complete with security steel cladding walls and two 5m bay PVC walls. As the main warehouse provided a high level of security, the smaller structure was left with two wall openings as opposed to doors.
