Cost saving May 1st 2007 Aetna UK has worked with major
manufacturers of plasterboard to
develop an automatic handling and
spiral stretch wrapping system,
which enables packs of plasterboard
to be wrapped directly after
stacking on the production line.
The company says savings of
more that £750 000 per annum can
be made on a single production
line, with full payback possible
within months of installation.
Skids are automatically delivered
from the bulk pallet into the skid
magazine by robot. The system
automatically inserts the wooden
skids under the stacked plasterboard
packs at predetermined
positions. Packs can be lifted with
forklifts from the line, without the
need to stop or invert the pack.
Skids can be glued to the bottom
board or stretch wrapped to the
pack to secure them. More articles from AETNA UK LTD: |
