Walkers Snack Foods of Leicester has awarded Astec Conveyors a contract to upgrade packing lines to increase handling capacity.

Its installations included a spacesaving spiral conveyor that transfers cartons to an upper level from within a restricted space.

Strategically positioned just prior to robot cells, Astec installed a specially designed lane divider that provides sortation capabilities on processing and packaging lines. It also installed sections of zero pressure accumulating powered roller conveyor and provided five new vision systems for online inspection.
