Greener void-filling November 1st 2008 Automated Packaging Systems
has made its AirPouch desktop
void-fill system more
environmentally friendly: the firm
will produce void-fill cushions from
single-source reprocessed material
at its Malvern site. The new film will
contain at least 95% reused
material that is by-product from its
bag manufacture process.
With rising raw materials costs,
reprocessing by-product also helps
the company reduce costs.
According to European marketing
manager, Mike Healey, customers
will also see cost reductions. "The
ultra-lightweight cushions have long
been considered a cleaner, lighter
and more user-friendly alternative to
loose fill material," he says.
"AirPouch offers a no-mess packing
solution that reduces shipping and
disposal/recycling costs while
increasing productivity."
AirPouch provides protective airfilled
cushions to meet end-of-line
packing requirements at a rate of
15 linear metres per minute. It
operates in either automatic or semi
automatic mode, creating a
continuous strip of air cushions. More articles from Automated Packaging Systems Ltd: |
