Strapping solutions November 1st 2006 Specialist newspaper strapping equipment from Mosca has been chosen by the Irish Times for its print facility at Citywest in Dublin. The newspaper has recently invested in state-ofthe- art publishing lines from Muller Martini and, with 250 000 newspapers printed daily, effective end-of-line strapping is essential. Joe Chuchla, mailroom manager, explains that the company researched the market and believe Mosca's RO-TAI-5 to be the most technologically advanced specialist newspaper strapper available. The company also visited D.C. Thomson in Dundee and Scottish Daily Record in Glasgow to see the machine in action. The RO-TAI-5 is capable of speeds of up to 36 bundles/min and has Mosca's airless, all-electric technology which eliminates the need for compressed air. The airless system is an extension of Mosca's brushless motors, direct drive technology, which has removed the need for a large number of mechanical components to ensure long term reliability and reduced maintenance costs. The three machines were installed in October 2005 and have performed well. More articles from Mosca Direct Ltd: |
