SCA Packaging's Industrial
Division has developed a bulk
packaging solution for ironing
boards. The design overcomes the
retailer's difficulties with storage
and handling of these goods during
back of store and logistics
operations.
Traditionally, ironing boards were
laid across a pallet; however, this
was an inefficient method of
storage causing product overhang.
This meant products could not be
placed in racking and presented a
safety risk to those working in the
warehouse.
SCA's solution was
to stand the ironing
boards up and store
them in a quick-toassemble
walk-in
pack, consisting of a
three-sided sleeve
with removable front
pad. The design
facilitates loading and
allows individual
products to be picked
directly from the pack
