Automated Guided Vehicles from E
& K Automation are now available
as flexible platforms for order
picking. AGV technology is suitable
for servicing high-bay, narrow-aisle
or wide-aisle warehouses, or for
supporting the pickers. AGVs can
now be used to optimise and
improve pick-by-light, put-to-light
and pick-by-voice operations.
They can also be used to
support pick-face monitoring
systems that give clear guidance to
pickers and are said to yield higher
productivity. Automated and
driverless trucks can support lean
and smart order picking, with
automated battery charging
routines such as priority-dispatch
