BMW boosts storage July 1st 2005 An Atlet Tergo URF narrow aisle swivel reach truck has helped BMW increase storage densities by 40% and improve load selectivity in the body panel picking area at its parts distribution warehouse in Bracknell.
The user-friendly truck was chosen for its versatility, manoeuvrability, ergonomic design and for the enthusiastic rating it received from BMW’s truck operators.
Forks on the Atlet Tergo URF can rotate through 180° so loads can be stacked to either side of the aisle without having to turn the truck around. It operates in aisles as narrow as 1.6m and handles loads to 1500kg.
BMW specified a larger than normal fork carriage so that the truck could handle its special picking cages. A restricted height mast enables the truck to pass through low doors.
The URF has interlocked push button and mini steer wheel controls for precise and secure operation and the operator has all-round vision of the truck, forks, load and racking. More articles from Atlet Limited: |
