DELICATE PROBLEM: WOODEN SOLUTION March 1st 2005 Crocodile Packaging has provided a range of solutions for Tyco Electronics to the problem of safely transporting easilydamaged fibre-optic cable to the American market.
The ISPM15 rules concerning wooden export packaging added another element to Tyco’s packaging requirements.
Crocodile has worked hard on developing ISPM15-exempt wooden packaging and was able to address this issue. It designed a system that involves the packing of cable drums within a protective outer, clippedtogether, shipping case.
The system allows double-stacking of drums, making maximum use of the available container volume, and improving shipping efficiency by more than 40% in some instances.
The outer box also provides a high level of protection to the delicate fibre-optic cable, averting potentially expensive damage to long lengths of cable.
Boxes can be re-used and comply with strict international rules on wooden packaging, such as those in China. More articles from Crocodile Packaging Ltd: |
