Four into one January 1st 2005 The Eurosort ESF 34 quadtray sorter, available from Polymark GB, is part of a compact, automated sortation process used by a large multi-media outlet.
Items handled include books, CDs and videos. As the name implies, each tray can carry four different items to a different drop zone.
Holland’s Free Record Shop required a versatile distribution warehouse and has achieved this with a handling system that sorts three product flows at once.
The overall handling system, by DistriSort BV, has products arriving at the sorter on two conveyor infeed lanes where they pass on to the quad-tray sorter.
Items entering the sorter are automatically monitored so that warehouse management software can control the discharge of the tray at the correct destination.
Each quadrant opens automatically at its destination, allowing items to drop down a chute ready for packing and despatch.
The sorter has a capacity for 20 000 items per hour. More articles from Polymark Gartner: |
