MORE POWER TO SHOWER FIRM
July 1st 2005

Daryl Anodising, aluminium finishing division of shower products manufacturer Daryl Industries, has made sweeping changes to its warehouse configuration and increased storage capacity by 30% since installing two LPG-powered Combilift multi-directional forklifts.

The company opted for a new concept based around the installation of racking and guided aisle operation to make better use of space and speed picking, without installation was completed in seven days without any civil engineering work.

They are driven by an electric motor on top of the shaft and include parachute brakes, internal control panel, battery back-up for lights and alarm, and light curtains on entrances.

the risk of damage to lengths of aluminium.

The 2 - 3m long stillages of raw materials are now stored in a compact area next to the machining, anodising and polishing facilities. Combilift customised the trucks with shorter than standard forks and platform length, enabling aisle widths to be reduced to 1.9m. Combined with a storage height of 3.5m, this economical use of space has enabled the company to hold more stock and, consequently take on more business.
