Provides high density storage

Pallet and cantilever racking systems designed and installed by Pro-Dek Storage Systems have provided Yorkshire Stainless with high-density storage at its new warehouse in Rotherham.

The company stocks and manufactures tubular stainless steel products, including pipes, flanges and fittings. These are delivered in timber boxes typically measuring 1200mm wide x 1000mm deep x 900mm high and weighing up to 1.25t. Pro-Dek pallet racking provides 420 locations for these products. It is 6m high and has been installed in a single-sided run measuring 47.5m and a double-sided run of 30.5m, both with five or six storage levels.

Over 220 linear metres of cantilever racking, 6.5m high and with seven storage levels, has been installed to stock pipe in lengths to 6m, either in timber boxes or unboxed.

Full boxes weigh up to 1500kg. Racking arms, individually rated to carry 750kg, are 1000mm long and have end stops and rubber pads to protect unboxed products.
