Safely shifts steel pipes November 1st 2007 When flow equipment company, Cameron, wanted to save space at its site in Aberdeen by moving hundreds of large steel pipes from the ground and storing them in tubular racking, there was concern that the pipes, when moved by a sideloader truck, would roll down the forks causing damage to racking.
Cameron turned to B&B Attachments for help. The company was able to provide a load stabiliser to suit the diameters of the pipes and a pivoting head to accommodate the tapered pipes.
B&B Attachments worked with Kaup to devise an attachment that would meet the company's precise requirements. It needed to be able to stabilise a range of steel pipes of up to 6000mm in length, with diameters from 105 to 400mm, and weighing up to 1500kg. As many pipes ar heavy at one end, the attachment needed a pivotal head. This allowed the rubber stabiliser pad to adjust to hold the load safely.
The Kaup 4T 129ST has not only saved Cameron time and increased efficiency, it has improved health and safety by ensuring that pipes are handled safely and securely.
