Strapping success

M.J. Maillis UK, has secured a contract to supply, install and commission 26 fully automatic, high speed Pakseal strapping machines at the Polestar Truenorth gravure plant in Sheffield.

Peter Green, Maillis UK’s graphics/machine division manager, comments “On being awarded the contract to provide the cross strapping technology for Polestar’s 13 strapping lines, we created an innovative solution that not only embraced the technology behind two of our Pakseal models, but also enabled bundling at a rate to 40 bundles per minute, per line, all without need for rotation.” The installation involved inline use of Pakseal’s PSN 40, a high speed, fully automatic strapping machine for transverse strapping, followed by in-line strapping on a Pakseal PSNi 40 fully automatic machine.

Bundles then progress for palletising and distribution.

Touch screen controls provide easy access to a range of help functions and adjustments. Other features include double press, double bundle stops, strap cutter and automatic strap feed with low tension and bundle confirmation sensor.
