Catches wine
July 1st 2006

At Direct Wines' warehouse in Berkshire there had been instances of cases of wine becoming dislodged from pallet racking during loading and unloading and falling into pedestrianised aisles, narrowly missing staff below.

Troax UK was asked to carry out a risk assessment and recommend solutions.

Extensive runs of the company's Anti-Collapse, pallet rack safety screens were installed throughout the racking. The all-welded mesh screens are 'spine-built', having been installed in the middle of each run of double-sided racking which can be accessed from both sides, preventing 'pallet spill' between the racks. The screens were custom-designed and reach a height of almost 6.5m.
