Decked out to aid fire safety July 1st 2008 Nene Group's Wire Mesh
Decks have proved a
success for a US clothing
retail chain. Installed onto
SSI Schaefer racking in two
separate installations, the
decks are aiding the
manual order picking of
boxed clothing.
Designed by Nene's inhouse
team using CAD
software, the racking has
dividers running side to side
and also from front to back
to allow for picking from
both sides of the racking.
Gary Coleman, contract
manager & sales at Nene
Group, says "The original
installation required us to
provide wire mesh decking
for non-standard frames of
1400 and 1800mm. The
beams are 4020mm and
needed a capacity of
3000kg. Despite the
irregular sizing, we were
able to design, supply and
install the decking ahead of
time and on budget."
Manufactured to fit any
pallet racking system, the
wire mesh decks quickly
drop over front and rear
support beams for easy
installation and relocation.
In the event of fire, the
decking allows smoke to
rise to sensors which
activate sprinklers, allowing
water to reach the source of
the fire. More articles from Nene Group Plc: |
