Double the storage
January 1st 2006

Righton has doubled stockholding capacity at its west Yorkshire service centre with the installation of custombuilt racking from Pro-Dek Storage Systems.

The cantilever racking provides flexibility for the variety of products stocked, which include aluminium, copper, stainless steel, high performance special alloys and industrial plastics in bar, tube and sheet form. Sheet materials measure up to 3 by 2m, while profiles may be up to 6m long.

The racking is 6.5 or 7m high, depending on its position in the warehouse, with between 12 or 16 arm positions on the vertical columns.

Arms can be adjusted vertically in 150mm increments. Lengths, chosen to suit different product dimensions, range from 1.5 to 2.5m. Most of the racking has been installed in a narrow-aisle configuration with part rail guidance that takes account of the trucks used by Righton.
