External racking November 1st 2008 Pro-Dek Storage Systems
has completed two external
racking installations with
integral weather protection
for Boys and Boden, a
builders' merchants. The
installations at Welshpool
and Shrewsbury have
provided some 1500 linear
metres of storage.
Pro-Bolt cantilever
racking with integral roof
canopies from Pro-Dek was
chosen as a cost-effective
solution that provided
space for large quantities of
timber to be stored under
cover on a relatively small
footprint and allowed
material to be accessed
easily as required.
The installation at
Welshpool is 33m long by
13m deep by 6.8m high,
while at Shrewsbury it is 29
x 22 x 6.8m. The vertical
columns have three arms of
1220mm, designed to
support 1000kg each. Arms
are of a bolted design,
adjustable on a 150mm
pitch. Sideloaders handle
timber at both sites and
aisle widths are standardised
at only 2660mm.
The racking supports lowprofile
pitched roofs clad
with single skin Plastisolcoated
sheeting and
including translucent panels.
Valley gutters and downpipes
are included, and all
steelwork is hot-dip
galvanised. More articles from Pro-Dek Storage Systems: |
