Multi-lane storage solution September 1st 2004 The competitive price and construction simplicity of Eastwood’s industrial racking has enabled the company to create a cost effective, multi-lane storage solution for Worcester-based document storage specialist, Whitefoot-Forward.
Based on its range of industrial racking, that has strong rigid steel frames and beams, and a tough, knock-resistant coating, Eastwood presented a plan comprising seven aisles, each 52.5m long, with four different levels of shelving, each able to hold three layers of five boxes by two deep. Each location has a unique reference, allowing precise storage and retrieval of archived items.
The Whitefoot-Forward system was constructed using standard 1840mm wide beams, although Eastwood’s standard range also includes beam lengths of 1220 and 2440mm.
A feature of the industrial racking is its simple assembly that ensures fast installation and also allows easy modifications should storage requirements change.
The storage facility now accommodates thousands of boxes of paper records. Michael Whitefoot, managing director, comments We have created a fully monitored, orderly archived format that provides instant traceability when people wish to retrieve paperwork. Our off-site storage is enabling clients to make cost and administration savings and to reduce their storage requirements. More articles from F Eastwood & Sons PLC: |
