Versatile shelving that’s easy to access
September 1st 2005

Amajor Link 51 two-tier shelving installation has been completed at a £1m vehicle after-sales centre in Surrey that is the centre for the Lance Owen organisation in the area.

The Euro-shelving system is featured in most of the installation, with the company’s Longspan shelving specified at specific points. The result sees more than 3km of shelving space created alongside a number of specialist bays, created directly from the versatile Link 51 design, that accommodates products such as body panels, bumper units, exhaust pipes and tyres.

In total, the facility occupies 5000ft2 of floor space, with the same amount correspondingly created on the second level.

Fifteen picking faces have been incorporated, with the shelving area providing between three and five levels per bay. Access is via four stairwells to a mesh steel flooring, also part of the Link 51 installation, while the layout accommodates existing pipework at roof height.
