ATEX-compliant March 1st 2008 Braby, manufacturer of ATEX
compliant aluminium and stainless
steel silos, has launched Vacatex,
its first standard, low cost, fully ATEX
compliant vacuum transfer and
batch weighing package for the
food industry. The system meets
DSEAR and ATEX 137 regulations for
fire and explosion prevention in the
workplace.
By producing Vacatex as an offthe-
shelf solution for replacing nonatex
compliant machinery, Braby
aims to help those in the food
industry who cannot necessarily
afford expensive, bespoke bulk
handling packages.
The system meets ATEX design
criterion, which includes a full
design study, risk assessment and
HAZOP technical file identifying risk
and solution. Some of the areas
which are included are: shock
pressure, operating pressure, vent
area and calculated design stress.
Paul Mayer, sales and marketing
director, comments "Installing new
equipment and ensuring it is ATEX
compliant is a major concern for
the food industry, but for many
small to medium companies cost
can be a big issue. The Vacatex
storage and handling system not
only provides a cost effective
solution, it enables those
companies to become ATEX
compliant more easily. More articles from Braby Ltd: |
