Automated storage system goes on show March 1st 2006 At MACH 2006, IAS Industore will be exhibiting Hanel's automated storage systems.
The Hanel Lean-Lift and Rotomat use all the available room height in a premises in a similar way to high bay racking. The system achieves high density storage on a minimum footprint coupled with swift and ergonomic retrieval of stored items.
At BMW's distribution centre in Bracknell, for example, a bank of 12 Lean-Lifts allow stock for despatch to the company's dealership network to be brought to the user, who works at a bank of three Lean-Lifts, in an average of 21sec.
Automated storage systems are complemented by a range of integrated stock management software solutions. At BMW, the Lean-Lifts receive a daily pick-list through interaction with the company's bespoke software. The pick list is then activated by the user under fully automatic control.
