Be goods to yourself November 1st 2007 Welconstruct has completed a major fit out and refurbishment project at Sainsbury's Tu clothing distribution centre in Coventry.
The 1.5m scheme has enabled the retailer to double the storage space of its TU clothing range at the city base. Work on the site began in April and completes this month reworking 120,000ft2 of distribution centre space.Welconstruct led the design of the storage solution and has acted as principal contractor during the four-month project.
"Sainsbury's pre retail and distribution operation in Coventry deals exclusively with its TU range and the expansion has come about directly as a result of increased sales," says Simon Wilkins, project manager at Welconstruct.
"We were instructed on the basis of our wide ranging experience in the retail sector and our ability to identify more efficient and highly cost effective measures to benefit the centre."
Welconstruct has installed a mezzanine floor, multi-tier shelving system, pallet racking, goods lifts, lighting, sprinklers, smoke detection, racking and conveyors.
