Heaters for hazardous area standards
May 1st 2007 LMK Thermosafe has announced
that its Thermosafe Induction Drum
Heater range has passed the
stringent new International IECEx
standard for use in potentially
explosive atmospheres.
The certified heaters, alongside
other products,
were on show at
this year's
TOTAL
exhibition held in
Birmingham. The
European ATEX
certification was
achieved before
it became a
legally binding
requirement for
users of
electrical
equipment in
hazardous areas,
and the IECEx certificate widens
geographic acceptance to any
country within the scheme.
The IP66 (hose-down) rating
ensures that the unit will continue
safe operation even if accidentally
splashed with hot liquids or hosed
