Innovative library storage solution September 1st 2006 FKI Logistex, supplier of advanced automated handling systems, has been awarded a contract to provide the British Library with additional storage and retrieval facilities for the ever expanding UK national collection of books and journals.
The facilities incorporate 262 linear kilometres of high-density, fully automated storage in a lowoxygen environment. FKI logistex will provide and integrate an extensive range of customised, high-density storage and retrieval systems into the new-build facility.
Because of the way various wellestablished technologies will be combined, the new library facility is seen as innovative and is expected to generate interest from libraries around the world. More articles from FKI Logistex: |
