Space-saving September 1st 2006 The Hnel Lean-Lift, distributed in the UK and Ireland by IAS Industore, is a fully automated vertical lift storage system designed to maximise storage capacity.
The heights of stored items are automatically measured so that they can be stored at the most height optimised location. The company says this enables dramatic floor space savings to be made. Picking times are reduced, with goods being brought to the user at an ergonomicallypositioned access point.
At the Defence Aviation Repair Agency in St Athan, a 3.5 by 4 by 10m Lean Lift is used to store a total of 19 fighter jet canopies on a footprint of 12.4m2. IAS Industore says that to store these on standard racking and shelving an area of 117.8m2 would be required.
A further 10 Lean-Lifts store small, fast-moving components. More articles from IAS Industore: |
