Storage boost
July 1st 2007

A multi-directional reach truck has enabled Yorkshire Stainless to maximise storage capacity by reducing aisle widths and turning areas at a raw materials store in Rotherham.

The Sidetracker SOW25 truck used in the warehouse is a narrowaisle model that has enabled aisles in the cantilever racking to be reduced to 1.9m. As the truck can steer in any direction, including diagonally, and rotate in a full circle on the spot, space for turning has also been significantly reduced.

Battery-powered, the truck has a lift capacity of 2000kg at 500mm load centre and a triplex mast with maximum lift height of 8.5m.

Maximum fork spread is 3000mm, while a wide reach well allows 1400mm-wide pallets to be handled at floor level.
