System doubles storage capacity January 1st 2007 Home entertainment furniture manufacturer, Alphason Designs, recently outgrew its existing storage facilities and had to move into a new 40,000 sq ft facility. When the company first moved in its stock had to be block stacked with a very restrictive limit of two pallets high in order to protect the products from possible damage. LINPAC Storage Systems was selected to design, manufacture and install a racking solution which would double the storage capacity of the warehouse. Limpac's very quickly came up with a versatile solution which combines drive-in racking with adjustable pallet racking in a configuration that maximises the storage capacity of the warehouse and enables greater efficiency in stock movement. Bulk stock is stored in five high, five deep drivein racking that runs down the sides of the warehouse. This robust drive-in system has been designed for fast, efficient and safe handling of stock. It features substantial box-section uprights, heavy duty entry guides, profiled pallet rails and angled column protectors. More articles from LINPAC Storage Systems Limited: |
