Tyre solution

When a leading tyre manufacturer in Portugal decided to overhaul its distribution network to improve handling efficiency and storage of finished product, it contacted BPS Logistica who, in turn, contacted associate UK group company Keymas Controls and Automation.

The solution was to design, make and install a stillage handling system to automatically convey tyres from manufacturing plant to a warehouse and storage facility several hundred metres away.

The problem of elevating a transportation stillage measuring 2.4 by 2 by 2m required BPS and Keymas to work closely to provide a total turnkey solution. This included custom-built elevators and lowerators, chain conveyors, turntables and a control subsystem for integration into the factory-wide management system.
