Working together to boost storage for Hilti
January 1st 2008 When fit-out specialist
Northern Storage &
Interiors (NSI), won an
order to supply a two-storey
storage area for tool manufacturer
and distributor Hilti (Gt Britain),
HiLo-PSS provided the company
with the products it needed.
To accommodate both europallets
and larger items, NSI
suggested removal of a mezzanine
and racking the two-storey area in
four sections using HiLo-PSS
appropriately sized beams and
frames to maximise storage density
and efficiency. As one of the areas
had to be accessed by a BT
Rolatruc reach truck, NSI carried
out a survey in conjunction with BT
Rolatruc to ensure that racking and
reach truck would work in synergy.
HiLo-PSS specified PSS
Stronglock adjustable pallet
racking which has been used to
create 230 pallet locations.
Racking was fixed to the floor
using Hilti's anchors.
The adjustable racking allows
any damaged part of a frame to be
replaced without renewing the
