Recycling role March 1st 2006 Compactors and skips from Skip Units Group are helping Highland Council achieve a recycling rate of 17.6%.
The specification adopted was based on Randalls' Simpak 1800 traversing compactor. On smaller sites, a static version of the same model is used.
The 1800 has hydraulic and electric components and anticorrosive, one-coat finish. The charge box has a nominal capacity of 1.7m3 and a 7.5kW motor drives up to a nominal 130m3/h, at a compaction force of 28 000kgf.
