Inspection guidance for tower users September 1st 2008 A new PocketCard from PASMA, a
trade association that represents the
mobile access tower industry, is
intended as a useful guide for
inspecting mobile access towers on
site. Designed to promote
competence in collaboration with the
HSE, the card offers simple,
straightforward advice to users 'from
the ground upwards'.
Nine easy-to-follow steps take the
user through everything from
environmental factors and ground
conditions to the safe and proper
use of adjustable legs, stabilisers
and frame locking devices.
The reverse of the card explains
when towers must be inspected
under the Work at Height
Regulations, how to complete a
tower record, what to do if an
inspection is unsatisfactory and the
record keeping requirements of the
regulations. More articles from PASMA: |
