Detects leaks
September 1st 2009

Crowcon Detection Instruments has extended its agreement with the technology development arm of a major Japanese gas utility to offer a new mini methane leak detector.

The LaserMethane mini (LMm) provides users with a long range instrument capable of detecting ppm levels of methane from up to 100m.

It weighs 600g, measures W70mm x H179mm x D42mm and features automatic ranging, colour LCD, 5h battery, and extended temperature range. IP54 rated, it uses the next generation of Tuneable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (TDLAS).

ATEX approval allows it to be used in Zone 1 areas for on-plant use as well as for detecting escapes in hard to reach or inaccessible areas.
