Dust beater
July 1st 2008 Wavin, manufacturer of plastic
pipe and ducting, has installed a
safe, efficient method for
personnel de-dusting at its factory
in Durham.
According to George
Hutchinson, production manager,
the dustiest area is the mixing
department where plastics
granules/grains, fillers (chalk) and
stabilisers are combined.
A blower powered 'JetBlack'
from Air Control Industries was
installed to de-dust personnel as
they move around the plant and
prior to going home. It was taken
on a week's trial and proved so
successful that the company
installed three more.
Hutchinson says that the
JetBlack is both efficient and safe
and that staff like it because it is
